Sora is a young boy of fourteen who has recently had strange thoughts and dreams. He has been living on the shores of Destiny Islands with his friends Kairi and Riku for all his life. They have been trying to escape the island and explore the rest of the universe using a raft. But one day, a storm hits the island; the friends are scattered across the worlds, each to a different place.

Meanwhile, in another world, King Mickey has disappeared--leaving a message to his kingdom's Court Wizard, Donald, and Captain of the Royal Knights, Goofy, to find the person with the "key" to their survival.

Eventually, their path crosses with Sora's and they side together against the strange beings known as "The Heartless" in the high hope of discovering the secrets of the mysterious Keyblade.

Who will be the one to open the door? Find out in the magical meeting of classic Disney Charachters, Square Enix whimsy, and a cast of heartwarming new characters caught up in a riveting plot.

In Sora' s journey, he will face creatures called Heartless, there creatures will go after your heart. Sora and friends must go along to each world that passes, looking for Riku and Kairi, who dissapeared from the Islands on the night of the storm. Each time sora goes to a world, someone needs help and there will be someone sora will have to face. With Meleficent and her gang terrorizing the worlds, Sora must help restore them to their original selves. Sora's journey will be long, and until he reaches Kingdom Hearts, he will have to keep venturing.

THE FOLLOWING IS OUR SPECULATION

Along the way, Sora runs into Riku, who at first he's overjoyed to meet, but soon realizes that Riku doesn't feel the same way. In fact, Riku has been tricked by Maleficent to go after Sora and take the Keyblade that rigtfully belonged to RIku in the first place, and use it to open the heart of their world, which is Maleficent's goal. Of course, Riku's reasons for agreeing are only to bring Kairi back alive, for she lost her heart as it migrated into Sora's on teh night of the storm.

Of course Sora doesn't know Kairi's inside him, and his goal is to find her and Riku so they can go back to teh islands. But, he now knows his islands are gone, and Riku's too enveloped in the darkness to listen to reason. After Sora and confronts and beats Riku yet again, he flees to the depths of Holow Bastion, where he encounters a wandering spirit, who offers to give Riku help that will let him wield the Keyblade.

Hesitantly, Riku accepted, which was the biggest mistake of his life, for the spirit took over RIku's body and was re-born as Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, a truly dark being who's goal is to find Kingdom Hearts, teh heart of all worlds, and use it's dark power for himself, assuming that the only true power the heart has is that of darkness.

Sora fights Riku with Ansem inside him and still manages to beat him, leaving Riku's special Keyblade that Ansem gave him lying on the floor. This Keyblade, different from Sora's, can unlock the power of people's hearts. Knowing Kairi's inside his heart, Sora makes a truly ridiculous move and stabs himself with it. In addition with Kairi's heart being released and floating back to ther body, Sora's heart is released, which forces his body into submission of darkness, turning him into a Heartless. (This is a major event-turner for the Future KH Games)

On top of this, Kairi, a princess of heart, one who has none but pure light in their heart, was restored, along with the other 6 Disney Princesses who share that feature. Their hearts were captive in Riku/Ansem's Keyblade and were restored when Sora destroyed the Keyblade when he stabbed himself.

Of course, now all of the princesses hearts are active, the door to the world's heart is unlocked and they are all put in danger. The princesses hold off the vast darkness that attempts to pour out of the Keyhole, the entrance to the world's heart that only the Keyblade can seal, and wait for someone to save them all.

Now, Ansem returns, fully and completely with a body of his own, and goes after the awakened Kairi, who along with Donald and Goofy were just mourning over their loss of Sora. Ansem threatens to attack them and destroy them for getting in his way, but Riku uses his last strength of light to hold off Ansem so Kairi Donald and Goofy could escape. Ansem retaliates by sending Riku into the Realm of Darkness.

At the foot of the castle, just as they are about to escape, they run into one lone Shadow Heartless, who isn't attacking them, just staring curiously. Kairi, who can understand the power of Sora's heart and energy recognizes this as Sora's Heartless, even though Donald and Goofy are in denial. However, before they could escape, a wave of Shadows appeared and as a last resort, Kairi shielded Sora from their attacks. The Shadows jumped on them but spectacularly, a wave of Light knocked them all back, and there was Kairi holding Sora in her arms. Sora was back, and ready to fight.

Finally, after managing to seal the Keyhole to Hollow Bastion, Sora, Donald and Goofy travel to the End of the World, a world composed of the destroyed worlds of the Heartless, such as Sora's Destiny Islands. The 3 know that once they destroy Ansem, the worlds should restore themselves, but that would mean this world would disappear. Sora wishes to take that risk after listening to Goofy's words of wisdom, and they travel throughout the place to the final door. On the other side of this door Ansem would reside. They open teh door and a light flashes. As it fades they find themselves on what looks like Destiny Islands, but Sora knows it isn't real. They find Ansem and begin the final long and grueling fight.

After a series of losses, Ansem transports them to the Endless Abyss, where Kingdom Hearts resides. He attempts to convince them that the heart is only powerful if it has darkness in it, and he draws the power of the area to take on his final form.

After his defeat, he attempts to contact Kingdom Hearts himself, expecting a wave of darkness, but Sora's knowledge proves more accurate when a wave of light pours out and obliterates Ansem.

After this, Sora Donald and Goofy race to close the door to Kingdom Hearts so the energy is kept inside. Unable to do it himself, Sora sees Riku who appears on teh other side of the door, pulling it closed. Since only dark beings like the Heartless could get through that door, Riku was unable to passs through to Sora, risking trapping himself inside forever. However, King Mickey is also in there, and together with Sora, one Keyblade on each side, they both lock the door and it disappears into Oblivion. Riku's last departing words were, "Take care of her." meaning Kairi.

After, Sora watches little parts of the world break off to go back to their worlds, and notices Kairi standing on a piece of land that starts moving away. As Kairi returns to her home world, Sora makes a promise that he will return to her, and though their bodies are seperated, their hearts are together.

The story ends with Sora Donal and Goofy walking down a path that was past the door to Kingdom Hearts. Everything's bright again, there's grass all around, and they start talking about what to do next, which is finding the door to the light so they can return to their worlds.

As they chase a wandering Pluto with a message form the King in his mouth down the, one adventure ends but another one has only begun...
