World Description

Summary

The World That Never Was is probably the most important world of the game, and not to mention the coolest world in the game. I mean, c'mon, look at it. So yeah, what makes this world so important? Well, first of all it's a Nobody world, yup, a Nobody world. A world without a heart. So, this would naturally be the perfect place for Nobodies to reside.
This world is used as Organization XIII's headquarters, and this is where their very own created Kingdom Hearts resides. This world serves as a master graveyard. One, because Sora murders 4 members in one trip, Luxord, Saix, Xigbar, and none other than Xemnas himself, and because there's an actual room where their fake existence is symbolized as different runes and pictures. Proof of Existence is interesting, because it allows you to see every single Organization Member you killed at once. Do you think this would make Sora feel ashamed? Nope. He just went there to pick more fights. Once a member's defeated, their rune fades away. However, since Luxord and Saix were murdered within their runes, they remained glowing as area for Sora to explore.
Next, this is also the world Roxas grew to know as home. He slept there, made friends there, learned about vacations there among other things, but nothing is more pronounced than when he was knocked out, kidnapped, and got his memory erased all at Memory's Skyscraper from Riku.
This world has 2 distinct sections, the Dark City and The Castle That Never Was. The Dark City is home to only Shadows and Neoshadows, which lurk by the hundreds, whereas the Castle That Never Was holds refuge for all Nobodies. You encounter every lesser Nobody at least once in this world.
Be careful when approaching this world, though, because the numerous boss fights are awesome! And, the Roxas/ Sora fight, (playable only in Final mix) is also awesome!
So, kick back and if the Organization is your favourite group, please don't hesitate. Go right ahead and imagine yourself walking along those hallways wearing a long black cloak. (Whoa, sounds sort of like the Grim Reaper).

Main Quests
In this world, you have a number of different things to achieve.

ROXAS- First when you get there, you 'fight' Roxas at Memory's Skyscraper. This is easy to do. You just watch a video.

XIGBAR- After that, you go up into the floating castle and fight Xigbar in the Hall of Empty Melodies. This fight is only hard if you've never used Reflect before, Or Goofy's Whirli-Goof Limit. Use those when he does his final spinning laser attack. where it takes a long time. You could also use Comet. Either way, you can't get hit.

MEET UP WITH RIKU- After defeating Xigbar, you continue on and bump into Riku as Xehanort's Heartless and Kairi. Don't be fooled, even though he cried for RIku, he still likes Kairi more.

LUXORD- After that, you go and fight Luxord. After meeting him in Port Royal, you can be assured that he would like a well-structured fight, with various rules. It's pretty straightforward, except he takes away all your allies. Hit him to lower his time gauge faster. If he hits you the you lose time AND health. That's hardly fair. He has a variety of minigames. Straightforward, they should be. Unleash a finishing move to finish him off, then you'll watch Sora in the only scene where there's a video of him actually dealing the final blow to a person, killing them.

SAIX- Next, you encounter Saix, and he is very tough if you aren't leveled up enough. It will take a lot of time to hit him just right. This is a fast-paced battle, and requires a lot of accuracy so you can hit him to knock him out of Beserk Mode. After this fight, Sora finally realizes that Roxas is in fact his Nobody. (I would have never guessed!)

XEMNAS- After defeating Saix, you move on throughout the castle. You do come across Maleficent and Pete attempting to take over the castle, and they don't seem too bothered to fight Sora and friends. But, now, Sora finally comes to the Altar of Naught, in which Xemnas transfers you over to an illusion of the Dark City friendless. You must fight him here. I found this fight a lot more exciting than the final battle to be honest. You just Reflect a the right tiem, counterattack at the right time, and use the reaction commands at the perfect time to deal maximum damage. When he puts a curse on you, quickly go to the base of the skyscraper and use the Reaction Command to shake it off. After this, when the third command pops up, hit it. DON'T hit the first 2. That's basically the basics of the battle.
Finally, comes the point where Xemnas hides within the depths of his crazy world said to be the inside of Xemnas's Kingdom Hearts. This battle is long and grueling, and the cutscenes at the end are unskippable, which makes it really long and drawn out. If you can't recite the whole end of the game word for word, you obviously haven't played the game long enough.

TREASURES
Okay, the treasures are in Chronological format, where I list each one in every area that you visit in order from Alley of Between to The Altar of Naught.

THE ALLEY TO BETWEEN
There are no treasures here.

FRAGMENT'S CROSSING-
Mythril Stone, Mythril Crystal, AP Boost, Orichalcum.

First, go past the first clearing and you'll run between two buldings to a darker clearing. There is one treasure chest in each of the far corners on the far wall.
After leaving this clearing, you go through another gap between buildings to a place with some platforms. One chest is on the platform straight ahead to the right corner and the other, well turn around and face the opposite corner. There it is.

MEMORY'S SKYSCRAPER
Mythril Crystal, AP Boost, Mythril Stone.
Enter the area and look to the right of the tower. Where a big truck crashed into the tower (wierd, right?) is a treasure chest. Next, go to the left side of the tower towards the next area, there should be two more treasure chests against the walls.

THE BRINK OF DESPAIR
Dark City Map, Orichalcum+.
You'll see a giant chest. open it. Next, face the castle and just before you enter, look to the left to a little ridge off of the path. There's the second treasure.

NOTHING'S CALL
Mythril Gem, Orichalcum.
Enter this area and you'll first see a chest at the top of the ramp on a platform. Then go around and just before heading to the next area look along the left of the wall, you'll see the other chest.

CROOKED ASCENSION
There are no chests here.

TWILIGHT'S VIEW

You'll find this in a rather large chest. near the top.

HALL OF EMPTY MELODIES(1)
There are no treasures here.

NAUGHT'S APPROACH
Mythril Gem, Orichalcum, Mythril Crystal
First, when you enter there's a chest on your left. Then start going up the ramp, and you'll have to find one chest which is on a fairly tall platform next to the staircase. The last treasure is at the top to the left.

HALL OF EMPTY MELODIES (2)
There are no treasures here.

PROOF OF EXISTENCE
There are no chests here, and none in the Battle areas either.

There isn't anything considered a sidequest in this world, however fighting Xemnas at the end is completely optional.
